Abstract
Atip Sholikhin, NIT : 50135020.T, 2018, "Analysis Ekplosions on the Engine Crankcase at MV. Energy Midas", Diploma IV Program, Teknikal Program, Politeknik Ilmu Pelayaran Semarang, Head of Community Service Development Center, Counselor I: Dr. A. Agus Tjahjono, M.M, M.Mar.E, and Advisor II: Tony Santiko, S. ST., M.Si. Various shipping companies are improving services to prioritize good service. If the main engine in the ship experienced a crankcase explosion will have an impact on the decreasing timeliness of the ship operation, it always performs maintenance and repair of spare part (spare part), so it will create ship engine condition that has more operational value. This study aims to analyze the factors causing the explosion on the machine's main engine crankcase in MV. Energy Midas, to analyze the effect caused to the parent machine in case of explosion in the crankcase in MV. Energy Midas and to analyze strategies / efforts in dealing with explosions on the machine's main engine crankcase in MV. Energy Midas. The research used SWOT analysis method by distributing questionnaires to 54 Teknika ATT II Student Officers (PASIS) and using error rate of 1% so samples can be taken as many as 51 respondents to be able to identify various factors systematically on strength (Strenghts), weakness ( Weakness), opportunities (Opportunities) and threats (Threats) to formulate problem solving strategies undertaken. Factors causing explosions on the machine's main engine crankcase in MV. Energy Midas due to leakage of bushing telescopic pipe, worn metals bearings and crosshead pin bearings, sagging bolt locking crosshead bearings. The explosion will have an impact on the components and system of the parent machine suffered severe damage. Efforts / strategies to overcome the explosion on the machine's main engine crankcase in MV. Energy Midas ie Engineers must make a change of telescopic pipe bushing, checking crosshead bolt lock with hammer test then binding with hydrolic jack and perform special training from maker MAN B&W as scheduled.
