Abstract

Desi Ratnasari, 2018, 51145503.K, “Analysis of the Influence of Ship Maintenance on Ship Operational Performance at PT. Cipta Samudera Shipping Line Surabaya”, Mini thesis Port and Shipping Departement, Diploma IV, Semarang of Merchant Marine Polytechnic, Supervisor I: Poernomo Dwi Atmojo., S.H., M.H., Supervisor II: F. Pambudi Widiatmaka, S.T., M.T., M.Mar.E. In effort to keep ship’s machine equipment in good condition, maintenance is needed to optimize the reliability of the ship’s equipment components in order to support the ship’s operational activities. Continuous use of ship engines must be supported by good maintenance activities, in order to avoid decreasing the ability or function of machinery and avoiding the occurrence of total engine ship damage. Therefore ship maintenance must be carried out optimally in order to support the operational performance of the ship. This research aims to determine the implementation of ship maintenance and operational performance of ships at PT. Cipta Samudera Shipping Line Surabaya, and knowing the effect of ship maintenance on ship operational performance at PT. Cipta Samudera Shipping Line Surabaya. The research method used is an qualitative descriptive. The data collection method used is interview, observation, documentation and literature study. Based on the results of research, the effect of ship maintenance is not optimal, especially on the MV. Cipta Cirebon at the time of operation is the delay of loading and unloading activities of the ship, the increased operational time of the ship, the increase of ship operating cost. PT. Cipta Samudera Shipping Line Surabaya seeks to improve the implementation of ship maintenance so that ship operational performance can take place smoothly.
