Abstract

Ahmad Itqonul Mufti, 2018. NIT: 51145272 N, “Manajemen Penanganan Muatan Clinker di Kapal MV. KT 05”. Nautical Study Program, Diploma IV Program, Merchant Marine Polytechnic of Semarang, 1st Advisor: Capt. Didi Sumadi, M.Mar., and 2nd Advisor: Dr. Winarno, S.ST.,M.H. Clinker is the main material used in the manufacture of cement resulting from the combustion process. In general, clinker shaped small grains of 0-40 mm diameter and classified as easily damaged or hardened when exposed to water. To reduce the risk of damage to clinker loads there is a need to be done to prevent damage to the charge, so that the load of clinker loaded to the ship quality is maintained in good condition. In this final project , the researchers conducted a direct observation of the loading process of clinker in Garongkong Port, and there is a problem when loading the loaded clinker load damaged by exposure to water. To analyze the occurrence of this problem, the researcher uses 3 methods of data analysis technique namely Cause Study, Fishbone Analysis, and Fault Tree Analysis. Cause Study Methods The researchers used to analyze the clinker load handling process in the MV.KT 05 vessel when loading in Garongkong Port, the Fishbone Analysis method the researchers used to analyze the factors that could cause clinker charge damage, and the Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) method the researchers used to determine the root cause of the problem by re-analyzing the factors that cause problems that have been obtained from the method of Fishbone Analysis so that later will be obtained solutions that must be done to prevent damage to clinker charge. By carrying out prevention efforts, it is expected that the load of clinker loaded into the vessel can be protected from damage and maintained quality so that no party is harmed due to damage of charge.
