Abstract

Suherman, M.Mar, Supervisor II: Daryanto, SH, MM In this thesis underlying background of writing is important in particular treatment rust treatment to support the smooth operation of a ship. With this in mind, the writers give a formulation of the problem "What are the factors that cause rust on pipes and pipe how to take care effectively and efficiently to reduce corrosion on the boat as well as the impact of the occurrence of rust in the pipes cargo on board MT. Fatmawati? " The theoretical basis used by the author is the base used as guidance in writing this essay. Author menngunakan literature has close links about rust treatment. The literature explains about notions and causes rust on the ship. And contains about a guide in the implementation of care on the ship to be optimal. Based on the research that has been carried out on the vessel, using data that exist and see the situation on the ground, the authors get a clear picture of how and treatment systems as well as obstacles encountered such a lack of knowledge of the crew and the lack of awareness of the importance of treatment , Based on these findings the authors present this thesis is descriptive with qualitative approach. To be able to cope and to optimize the treatment of the way of good care should be developed and implemented in accordance with existing procedures. To be able to carry out proper care, must first determine the type and cause rust occurs. By knowing the cause and type of rust that occurs, it can have a proper way for the reduction and prevention in accordance with the rust occurring. Care system should be structured so that all activities can be coordinated with good care, so that ship operators can quickly develop a work program for the care and treatment implementation to be effective. Working system made should be systematically arranged so that the system can be used as a source of archival information. The archival material is used as a reference to the implementation of further treatment. The conclusions that can be drawn is the occurrence of rust caused by the manner and improper care system that is the means used are not in accordance with the provisions and systems that are not arranged in a systematic and due to environmental influences, namely salt, humidity and air temperature. Suggestions can be submitted is a need to be made way in accordance with the provisions and systematic care system and the cooperation of all parties.
