Abstract
Aditya Sigit Pamungkas, NIT. 51145139. N, 2018 “Implementation and role of the crew on garbage management at MV.KT05”,Diploma IV, Nautical, Semarang merchant marine polytechnic, First Guide : Yustina Sapan. Second Guide: Andi Wahyu Hermanto. Garbage management is a Waste Management Plan that is a complete guide consisting of written procedures for collecting, storing, processing and disposing of waste generated on board according to the regulations provided in Annex V MARPOL 1973. All ships measuring 400 GT and carrying 15 one should carry the Garbage Management Plan and Garbage Record Book. In the discussion in this thesis the authors analyze the role and role enhancement of the crew of the ship for the application of good garbage management in accordance with the regulation of MARPOL 1973. The research method used in this thesis is Descriptive with Fishbone as a method to analyze problems from interview data and Fault tree analysis method as a method to analyze the root cause of the problem. Efforts to improve the crew in garbage management include the socialization of the MARPOL 1973 regulation and the supervision of the crew, as well as the need for support and awareness of the crew and also the checking of supporting facilities on the vessel as well as the addition of internal regulations applied to all crew aboard.
