Abstract

Widi Nurulhani, NIT. 51145457.T, 2018 “Effect of Lifeboat Treatment on Crew Safety Above MT. Gas Nuri Arizona”, Diploma IV program, Teknika, Polytechnic of Semarang Sailing Scout, Supervisor I: H. Suwondo, MM., M.Mar.E. and Supervisor II: Adi Oktavianto, ST., M.M. Lifeboat is a safety device that is on board a ship that has the function to save yourself for the crew when the ship will sink, run aground, and burn. Due to an accident the lifeboat can be used as an emergency or temporary residence for the crew until there is help coming for the crew of the ship. Lifeboat engine is a machine component that is used to run the helper skill with the ignition of the compression arranged in such a way that at any time in the ready-to-use mode it must be switched on immediately This study aims to determine the performance of lifeboat with the method used in this thesis is a qualitative descriptive method with fishbone analysis techniques and fault tree analysis as a method to determine the causes and efforts to overcome them. The formulation of the problem of this study is what factors are the basis for the implementation of ilifeboat treatment, the impact of poor treatment on lifeboat on safety and the efforts made so that lifeboat can work optimally. Based on the results of this study concluded that the cause of the implementation of lifeboat treatment is a lifeboat machine that does not want to stop when the switch off, because the soloids on the governoor that can not work properly. From the factors causing the failure of the machine on the lifeboat to stop. Efforts are made to improve the performance of the lifeboat is to perform periodic maintenance appropriate procedures for the lifeboat part of them is by doing weekly maintenance or Saturday routine and make repairs and maintenance according to Plan Maintenance System that sudh scheduled.
