Abstract
Widyawati Titis Yanuaningsih, 2018, “Efforts in Order to Prevent Oil Overflow on MT. Klasogun Vessel.” Counselor I: Capt. H.S, Sumardi, SH, M., M.Mar, Counselor II: R.A.J Susilo Hadi Wibowo, S. Ip, M. In order to handle and to prevent pollution from oil overflow, IMO (International Maritime Organization) has make regulations that should be done in international shipping world. In this thesis, writer has found the cause of oil overflow over vessel, therefore, the writer give “Efforts in Order to Prevent Oil Overflow on MT. Klasogun Vessel” as the thesis. This research uses qualitative method with observation approach and use documents also data that related with oil overflow prevention and pollution handling over MT. Klasogun. From this researh, we can conclude that the cause of oil overflow is because unimpermeable valve cargo that makes oil drop over vessel, this is because valve cargo’s age and pipe line that relatively old, also less maintenance of load and unloading machines and unclosed scupper plug, therefore, this problem should be handled by giving ODS (Oil Dispersant Separation) toward sea that mixed with the oil so oil and water can be separated and not causing any pollution mre, also by giving sawdust and SOPEP tools toward deck to clean the oil spill. In other hand, b doing drill and routinely doing check and maintenance of load and unloading tool are ways to prevent oil overflow over board. Keywords: Prevention, Oil Overflow, Tanker
