Abstract

Martha Option And Effort Remedies ", thesis Nautical Studies Program, Diploma Program IV, Polytechnic Studies Sailing Semarang, Supervisor I: Capt. Dwi Antoro, MM, M. Mar, Supervisor II: H. Suharso, SH, S. Pd, SE, MM Stranded ship in Musi River flow caused much harm to the shipping company and the shipper, then the purpose of this thesis is to determine the factors that cause the shipwreck of the ship MT. Martha Option in Musi River flow and the steps that must be done to free the ship from the ground and the efforts taken so that foundered not happen again Stranded ship is divided into two events are beached (ship deliberately denied because of a few things to save the ship, crew and cargo) and stranded (ship that ran aground due to unintentional human negligence). This research is a descriptive, meaning only describe all the findings of research problems. The method used is qualitative. The data collected through interviews, observation, literature, and documentation while on the boat. Main engine trouble, rudder jammed, gyro error and telegraph traffic jams as well as current and strong winds are the cause of the shipwreck of the vessel MT. Martha Option in Musi River flow and to free the ship aground is by way of check aground, salvage, waiting for the highest tide for the exercise motion and if it is not managed in a way unloaded and towed by tug boat.
