Abstract

Azhari Fahmi Syawaludin, The application of International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code in MT. Serang Jaya/P.3011 In Improving The Safety Of The Ship's Crew. Script, Politeknik Ilmu Pelayaran Semarang. Supervisor : ( I ) Capt. Suherman, M.Mar ( II ) Daryanto, SH, MM Lately it's been to security threats in the marine transportation business, in this case is a ship. So it needed an international provision as a reference implementation of the above ship safety. Such provision is International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS) Code. With respect to such matters then in this thesis the author tried to discuss the problem, namely, how the implementation of the ISPS Code in MT.Serang Jaya/P.3011 support ship security? What are the constraints encountered and how the solution the application of the ISPS Code? In grounding theory mentioned some things about material related to title taken. Among them concerning the application of the understanding, the implementation of the ISPS Code, the rules as a way to improve understanding and knowledge of the ship's crew that is useful to further enhance the security and safety of the ship's crew. In the writing of this thesis the author uses a qualitative methodology as a research procedure that generates observative descriptive data in the form of the written word of people and behavior that can be observed. The purpose of this study is to give an overview in a systematic a real state of affairs in the implementation of the application Internasional Ship and Port Facility Security Code in MT. Serang Jaya/P.3011. During the research, the author got the findings of which were in the implementation ISPS Code that is how the implementation of the ISPS Code to support the safety of the ship's crew in MT. Serang Jaya/P.3011, constraints faced is the lack of training on ISPS Code which is the responsibility of the Ship Security Officer and lack of awareness of the crew in the implementation of ISPS Code above the vessel while in the implementation of the ISPS Code i.e. often familiarisation of ISPS Code periodically. From the results of research and discussion of the problems above it can be concluded that in the implementation of the ISPS Code planning must be made, held dissemination and awareness is required, often held training, given the assessment of the safety of ships and the necessary supervision of the responsible party. The advice of the author is preferably held proper planning, often socializing, often held training and always provide motivation and oversight to the entire crew of the ship.
