Abstract

Firhand Aulia Ramadhan, 2018, NIT: 51145507. K, “Analysis of the Inhibition Arrangement of Container Export on Container Yard at Terminal Peti Kemas Semarang”, Mini Thesis of Port and Shipping Department, Diploma IV Program, Merchant Marine Polythecnic Semarang, Supervisor (I): Andy Wahyu H, S.T, MT. Supervisor (II): Nasri, MT, M.Mar.E As a port of freight transport, the existence of Terminal Peti Kemas Semarang is needed by the industry to support the export of goods. Container export is very important for Terminal Peti Kemas Semarang which is a container operator at Tanjung Emas port. The delay in export container arrangement will slow down the receiving activity. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the inhibition of export container on container yard in the Terminal Peti Kemas Semarang. The purpose of this research is to find out how the implementation of export container arrangement on container yard, to find out the impacts arising from the inhibition of export container arrangement on container yard, and to find out how efforts are made to overcome the impacts caused by the inhibition of export container arrangement on container yard in the Terminal Peti Kemas Semarang. This research method is descriptive qualitative method, where researcher take data by conducting observation so that research conducted in accordance with method used. In addition, data collection is done by interviewing, field research, library research and documentation in the form of data collected by researcher in the Terminal Peti Kemas Semarang. The research results showed that, the export container arrangement or receiving activity on container yard in the Terminal Peti Kemas Semarang still inhibited. The impacts arising from the inhibition of export container arrangement on container yard in the Terminal Peti Kemas Seamarang is a long queue or crowded from the interchange area up to container yard area and the operational cost incurred by the customer becomes higher. Efforts are being made to overcome the impacts caused by the inhibition of export container arrangement on container yard in the Terminal Peti Kemas Semarang is expanding the interchange area and separating the way between receiving and delivery activites, give instructions to the driver or operator head truck to always communicate with the yard planner, and increase the quantity of monitors in the interchange area.
