Abstract

ABSTRAKSI Putra Handyka Redyatama, NIT. 52155751.T, 2019 “Analisis Patahnya Valve Bridge Main Engine di Kapal MT. AS MARINE SATU ”, Program Diploma IV, Teknika, Politeknik Ilmu Pelayaran Semarang, Pembimbing I: Drs. Edy Warsopurnomo, MM., M.Mar.E dan Pembimbing II: Capt. Ali Imran Ritonga, MM., M.Mar Valve Bridge merupakan komponen mesin yang berfungsi sebagai jembatan penghubung dua katub yang di gerakan oleh rocker arm untuk membuka dan menutup inlet valve maupun exhaust valve saat mesin beroperasi, Camshaft menerima putaran dari poros engkol dan diteruskan oleh pushrod untuk menggerakan rocker arm sehingga valve bridge bisa bergerak naik turun untuk membuka dan menutup valve. Pada kapal MT. As Marine Satu valve bridge main engine patah maka secara langsung main engine tidak dapat bekerja dengan optimal dan menggangu pengoperasian kapal guna sebagai sarana transportasi laut. Metode yang digunakan dalam skripsi ini adalah metode Deskriptif Kualitatif dengan teknik analisa fishbone dan fault tree analysis sebagai metode untuk menentukan penyebab dan upaya untuk menanggulanginya. Adapun rumusan masalah dari penelitian ini adalah faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi patahnya valve bridge, dampak yang ditimbulkan dari patahnya valve bridge dan upaya yang dilakukan untuk mencegah patahnya valve bridge. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini disimpulkan bahwa penyebab dari patahnya valve bridge adalah padatnya jadwal voyage kapal, dan tidak adanya spare part diatas kapal. Dari faktor penyebab tersebut mengakibatkan timbulnya suara kasar pada main engine, penurunan tenaga pada main engine, kerja dari turbocharge tidak optimal. Upaya yang dilakukan untuk mencegah patahnya valve bridge adalah melakukan perawatan sesuai prosedur, mengganti valve bridge yang patah dan selalu menyediakan spare part valve bridge diatas kapal. Ali Imran Ritonga, MM., M.Mar Valve Bridge is an engine component that functions as a two-valve connecting that is moved by the rocker arm to open and close the inlet valve and exhaust valve when the engine is operating, the camshaft receives rotation from the crankshaft and forwarded by the pushrod to move the rocker arm so the valve bridge can move up and down to open and close the valve. On the ship main engine valve bridge is damaged, the main engine cannot work optimally and disrupt the use of ships as a means of sea transportation. The method used in this thesis is Qualitative Descriptive method with fishbone analysis techniques and fault tree analysis as a method to determine the causes and efforts to overcome them. The problem formulation of this research is factors influence the broken valve bridge valve, the impact of the valve bridge fracture and the efforts made to prevent the valve bridge from being broken. Based on the results of this study it was concluded that the cause of the broken valve bridge was the tight schedule of the voyage ship, and there is not of spare parts on the ship. From these causative factors resulting in the appearance of rough sounds on the main engine, the work of the turbocharge are not optimal. An attempt to prevent a broken valve bridge is to perform maintenance according to the procedure, replace a broken valve bridge and always provide a spare part on the ship.
