Abstract

Daffa Adhi Nugraha, 2018, NIT: 50135023. T, “Analysis application Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) in vessel MT.Gede”, Technical Thesis, Diploma IV Program, Merchant Marine Polythecnic Semarang. Material Adviser (I): Nasri, MT, And Material Adviser (II): Nita Setiyaningsih, S.Pd, S.Hum. CCTV is a crucial surveillance device become one of the security system which is used to monitor, record on incidents happened on the vessel as well as an authentic evidence according to law no 11 of 2008 about ITE. The installation of CCTV on the vessel is used to increase the performance of crew in carrying out watchkeeping duties and daily works in which are regulated at safety Of Life (SOLAS) book in chapter V. This research is not only aimed to find out the factors that influenced the installation of CCTV on the vessel ut also to enhance the safety of crew and cargoes. This research as been conducted by using qualitative method which performs observation. The results are then analyzed by using the SWOT analysis method which consists of identifying strenghts and weaknesses by using the IFAS matrix and to indetify opportunities and threats by using EFAS matrix. The result showed the factors that influenced the installation of CCTV on the vessel were company,poor supervision of crew, the quality of CCTV, and the position for placement of CCTV in properly the efforts that are apllied to maximise the performance of CCTV by implementing the routine supervision and checking by the company at least once a month, having a skilled person to handle and maintain the CCTV professionally it must be more precise in placement of CCTV on the vessel. So that CCTV can be used powerfully by the crew. Keyword : Application, Analysis, CCTV.
