Abstract
Muhamad Rizky Satiyo Hutomo, 2017, NIT : 50134914.T ”The analysis of the working reduction of feed water pump boiler on MV. Hanjin Santana”, minithesis of Technical Programe, Diploma IV Programe, Merchant Marine Polythecnic Semarang, Supervising professor I: H. Aslang, M.Pd, M.Mar. E and Supervising professor II: Budi Joko Raharjo, MM. The decreasing of the feed water pump working can be indicated by decreasing the water pressure delivered by the pump to enter the boiler. The decreasing pressure is caused by damage to the vital components of the pump. In this case the authors want to describe the problem analysis of the decline of the feed water pump working. The method used is the method of Urgency, Seriousness, Growth, which is one tool to arrange the order of priority issues to be solved, by determining the level of urgency, seriousness, and the development of issues by determining 1-5 or 1-10. Data collection techniques are done through Observation, documentation and literature study directly on subjects relating to the decreasing of the feed water pump working. There are many causes of damage to the pump components that result in decreased pumping work in MV. Hanjin Santana, from the causes are analyzed to find the basic cause. In MV. Hanjin Santana, the decline in feed water pump working is caused by impeller damage due to the erosion of the blade, mechanical seal leakage, or bearing damage due to lack of lubrication. From abstraction above the writer can conclude The decreasing of the feed water pump working is caused by several factors including damage to pump components, pump maintenance, and pump operation procedures according to the manual.
