Abstract
ABSTRACT Faniba Idha Nurrachmad, 2018, 50134811 N, “Optimization of cargo operation in improving crude oil discharge process on MT. Gede”. Nautical Essay, Diploma IV Program, Semarang Merchant Marine Polytechni Material Adviser (I): Capt. Marihot Simanjuntak, M.M. and as Methodologi and Adviser (II): Vega Fonsula Andromeda, S.ST, S.Pd, M.Hum. Indonesia is one of the oil and gas producing countries in the world. With the increasing and increasing production of oil fields, oil refineries, and oil depots in Indonesia, the role of tankers in this regard is very important for the transportation of oil and gas. Along with the development of science and technology, the tankers themselves are experiencing changes and developments and renewal, the issue of loading and unloading equipment on board with technological advances, must be balanced with the human resources factor in order to operate the equipment- advanced equipment properly and properly in accordance with existing procedures and manuals. This research uses a qualitative method. In determining priorities for completion, the researcher uses an approach tool with the SWOT (Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities, Threats) method by giving a score of 1-5. Based on the observation and analysis of the author reads, good communication between all parties in the process of unloading crude oil. Good communication can facilitate and improve the process of unloading maximally. Besides, it is also the maintenance and operational method of unloading supporting tool to minimize.
