Abstract

Prabowo Hadi Hartantyo, 2016, NIT: 49124395.N, “The Implementation Process of Hydro Pipe Pressure Test Cargo on Board MT. John Caine”, Nautical Departement, Program IV Diploma, Merchant Marine Polytechnic of Semarang, 1st Supervisor: Capt. Dwi Antoro MM, M.Mar. 2nd Supervisor: SRI SUYANTI, SS, Msi. Premium composed of straight chain hydrocarbons, ranging from C7 (heptane) to c11. In other words, gasoline is made of molecules consisting only of hydrogen and carbon that is bonded with each other to form a chain. Based on the research results, “the implementation process of hydro pipe pressure test cargo on board MT. John Caine” experienced failure due to several obstacles both on the crew readiness factor in providing the necessary facilities and equipment of factors. Therefore, the authors are interested to lift the formulation of the problem to be discussed in the title. The author uses a qualitative method of case studies to outline the cases that occurred aboard the research object and explain the efforts made to overcome the obstacles of the crew readiness factor in providing the necessary facilities and equipment of factors that are not under normal conditions. Among other things that occur during the process of implementation of hydro pressure test is the knowledge of some of the crew were still lacking, a lack of coordination between the ship with relevant parties and unloading equipment not under normal conditions. Attempts to overcome them by increasing knowledge of the crew to conduct the introduction and training to the entire crew deck on the implementation of hydro pressure test the pipeline load, duties and responsibilities of each, enhanced coordination between the crew deck with crew related machinery as well as perform routine maintenance the means of implementation of hydro pressure test and other support equipment. Conclusion The execution hydro pressure test can run smoothly when the crew of the vessel has the readiness to provide the necessary means, knowledge and a greater understanding on the implementation of hydro pressure test, understand and skilled in operating the equipment, can do a good coordination with the parties involved as well as all equipment dismantling in good condition and well.
