Abstract

INTI SARI Anthare D.A.S.N.H, 2019, NIT : 52155733. T, “Analisis Penurunan Produksi Air Tawar Pada fresh water generator di MV. Meratus Project 1”, skripsi Progam Studi Teknika, Program Diploma IV, Politeknik Ilmu Pelayaran Semarang, Pembimbing 1 : Abdi Seno, M.Si., M.Mar.E. dan Pembimbing II : Yustina Sapan S.ST, M.M. Fresh water generator adalah suatu mesin yang berfungsi untuk mengubah air laut menjadi air tawar dengan prinsip memanfatkan kevakuman untuk proses evaporasi dan kondensasi. Pesawat ini memiliki peranan sangat penting dalam kelancaran pengoperasian kapal, dimana dalam pengoperasian kapal tidak terlepas dari kebutuhan akan air tawar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk dapat mengetahui penyebab, dampak, serta upaya yang terjadi pada fresh water generator sehingga dapat meningkatkan hasil produksi air tawar pada fresh water generator di kapal. Metode penelitian yang penulis gunakan dalam penyusunan skripsi ini adalah metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan fishbone sebagai teknik analisa data. Metode fishbone berbentuk menyerupai tulang ikan yang bagiannya menyerupai kepala dan tulang ikan. Diagram fishbone juga disebut diagram cause and effect (sebab dan akibat) karena diagram tersebut menunjukan hubungan antara sebab dan akibat dari faktor penyebab permasalahan, dampak yang ditimbulkan serta upaya yang dilakukan untuk mencegah turunya produksi air tawar pada fresh water generator di MV.Meratus Project 1. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan, dapat disampaikan bahwa turunya produksi air tawar pada mesin fresh water generator di MV.Meratus Project 1 disebabkan oleh rusaknya packing pada pelat evaporator, kurangnya tekanan ejector suply pump, kelalaian seorang engineer, dan kesalahan prosedur pengoprasian, banyaknya kerak pada pelat evaporator. Dampak yang disebabkan dari faktor adalah kurangnya kevakuman, proses kondensasi tidak sempurna, timbulnya kerusakan mesin yang mengganggu kinerja mesin, timbulnya masalah baru pada, proses evaporasi tidak bisa sempurna. Untuk mencegah faktor faktor tersebut dapat dilakukan upaya dengan mengganti packing yang sudah rusak, membersihkan filter pompa, membuat tabel scheadule maintenance yang ditanda tangani oleh KKM, mempelajari panduan dari manual book, membersihkan kerek kerak pada pelat evaporator. Fresh water generator is a machine that functions to convert sea water into fresh water with the principle of utilizing a vacuum for the evaporation and condensation process. This aircraft has a very important role in the smooth operation of the ship, where the operation of the ship is inseparable from the need for fresh water. This study aims to determine the causes, impacts, and efforts that occur in fresh water generators so as to increase the yield of fresh water production in fresh water generators on ships. The research method that the author uses in the preparation of this description is a qualitative descriptive research method using the fishbone approach as a data analysis technique. The fishbone method is shaped like a fish bone whose parts resemble the head and bones of a fish. Fishbone diagrams are also called cause and effect diagrams because they show the relationship between the causes and effects of the causes of the problem, the impacts caused and the efforts made to prevent fresh water production from falling in fresh water generators in MV.Meratus Project 1. The results of the research carried out, can be conveyed that the fall in fresh water production in fresh water generator machines in MV. Status Project 1 is caused by damage to the packing on the evaporator plate, lack of pressure ejector supply pump, negligence of an engineer, and errors in the operating procedure, the amount of crust on the plate evaporator. The impact caused by factors is the lack of vacuum, the process of imperfect condensation, the emergence of engine damage that interferes with engine performance, the emergence of new problems in, the evaporation process cannot be perfect. To prevent these factors efforts can be made by replacing damaged packaging, cleaning the pump filter, making a maintenance scheadule table signed by KKM, studying the guidelines from the manual book, cleaning the scale of the evaporator plate.
