Abstract

ABSTRAKSI Nugroho, NIT. 52155720. T, 2019 “AnalisisKegunaan Perawatan Minyak Lumas Terhadap Kinerja MotorDiesel Generatordi MT. GANDINI”, Program Diploma IV, Teknika, Politeknik Ilmu Pelayaran Semarang, Pembimbing I: Dwi Prasetyo, M.M, M.Mar.E dan Pembimbing II: Capt. Hadi Supriyono, MM, M.Mar Minyak lumas adalah zat cair atau benda cair yang di gunakan dalam pelumasan suatu mesin untuk mengurangi terjadinya keausan akibat gesekan sekaligus sebagai pendingin pada mesin tersebut. Pelumasan adalah pemberian minyak lumas antara dua permukaan bantalan, yaitu permukaan yang bersinggungan dengan tekanan dan saling bergerak satu sama lain. Karena peranan minyak lumas yang begitu penting, faktor perawatan menjadi hal yang sangat berpengaruh terhadap kualitas minyak lumas tersebut, sehingga akan berpengaruh pada kinerja motordiesel generator. Metodeanalisis data yang digunakandalamskripsiiniadalahmetodefault tree analysissebagaimetodeuntukmenentukan faktor permasalahan dan basicevent yang ada pada permasalahan. Adapun rumusanmasalahdaripenelitianiniadalahfaktorapa yang menyebabkanmenurunnya kualitas minyak lumas pada motordiesel generator, apa upaya perawatan minyak lumas yang harus dilakukan agar kualitas minyak lumas tetap terjaga. Berdasarkanhasilpenelitianinidisimpulkanbahwapenyebabmenurunnya kualitas minyak lumas yang dapat mempengaruhi kinerja motor diesel generatoradalahsea water tube pada LO cooler tersumbat, kotornya sea chest, lolosnya gas pembakaran ke dalam carter dan butiran logam hasil gesekan antar komponen.Upaya yang dilakukan untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut adalah dengan melakukan inspeksi dan pembersihan terhadap sea water tube dan sea chest. Serta pembersihan pada LO filter dan penggantian minyak lumas yang sudah melebihi jam kerja. Karena jika upaya tersebut tidak dilakukan akan berakibat pada turunnya ifisiensi pelumasan pada minyak lumas tersebut dan dapat mengakibatkan generator trip. ABSTRACT Nugroho, NIT. 52155720. Hadi Supriyono, MM, M.Mar Lubricating oil is a liquid that is used in the lubrication of a machine to reduce the occurrence of wear due to friction as well as cooling on the engine. Lubrication is the provision of lubricating oil between two bearing surfaces, that intersect with pressure and move with each other. Because the role of lubricating oil is so important, the maintenance factor is very influential on the quality of the lubricating oil, so that it will affect the performance of the auxiliary engine. The method used in this paper is the method of fishbone analysis to analyze the beginning and proceed with a fault tree analysis as a method to determine the problem factors and basic events that occur in the problem. The formulation of the problem from this study is what factors cause the decline in the quality of lubricating oil on the auxiliary engine, what efforts to treat lubricating oil must be done so that the quality of the oil can be maintained. Based on the results of this study, it was concluded that the cause of the decline in the quality of lubricating oil which could affect the performance of the auxiliary engine was a clogged sea water tube, a dirty sea chest, and metal grain resulting from friction between components. Efforts to overcome this problem were carried out by inspecting and cleaning sea water tubes and sea chests. As well as cleaning the LO filter and replacing lubricating oil that has exceeded working hours. Because if these efforts are not carried out it will result in a decrease in lubrication efficiency in the lubricating oil and can result in the generator trip.
