Abstract

ABSTRAKSI Khafidz Choirul Anam, 2019, NIT: 51145123.N, “Analisis kerusakan Inert Gas System pada saat bongkar minyak mentah di MT. Bull Papua”,Program Studi Nautika, program diploma IV, Politeknik Ilmu Pelayaran Semarang, Pembimbing I: Capt. Pembongkaran dilakukan sesuai dengan International Safety Guide for Oil Tankers and Teminals. ABSTRACT Khafidz Choirul Anam, 2019, NIT: 51145123.N, “Analisis of Inert Gas System failure during during crude oil discharging on MT. Bull Papua”, Nautical department, program of diploma IV, Merchant Marine Polytechnic Of semarang, Lecture I: Capt. Agus Hadi Purwantomo M.Mar. and Lecture II: Daryanto S.H., M.M. On oil tankers, fire and explosion hazards, the likelihood of occurrence is very large, for which international regulations require that tankers with a deadweight of over 20,000 tons must be equipped with an Inert Gas System (IGS) to prevent fires or explosions in cargo tanks. However, when carrying out the discharge operation, an Inert Gas System was damaged which resulted in the execution of the discharge operation carried out without using the tool. This of course will cause delays in carrying out crude oil dismantling, the crew of the ship is required to be able to overcome the problem so that the discharge operation will continue to be carried out so that the ship is not off hire. The research method used by the author is a qualitative method and uses a type of observational descriptive research, while the data collection method used is the method of interview, observation and literature study related to the use and treatment of IGS. From the results of this study, it can be seen how to overcome the damage of the tool by reducing the discharge rate which was originally pump strength up to 2500 kl/h then reduced to 700-800 kl/h so that there is no shrinkage in the cargo tank as a result of damage to Inert Gas System. The vacuum valve from the PV valve and mast riser is opened manually so that air can enter and replace the volume of liquid pumped out. Overnight the discharge operation was carried out by reducing the discharge rate, the chief engineer and machinists carried out repairs to the IG scrubbers which were damaged in the demister section. After IG scrubbers have been repaired and the IGS can be restarted, the discharge operation runs as before by restoring the initial discharge rate and closing the vacuum valve pv valve and mast riser and dismantling is carried out according to the International Safety Guide for Oil Tankers and Terminals.
