Abstract

Ilham Yusuf Asy’ari, 2018, 51145185 N, ”crew unconsciousness in PPE application (Personal Protective Equipment) at MV Oriental Diamond with SWOT analysis method”, Nautical Essay, Diploma IV Program, Semarang Merchant Marine Polytechni Material Adviser ( I ) : Capt. Hadi Supriyono, M.M., M.Mar and as Methodologi and Writing Adviser ( II ) : Dr.A. Agus Tjahjono, M.M., Mar.E. Safety in work is a activity to create a safe woking environment, preventing all forms of accidents. Being careful and not being careless in the act will make the other side feel no worries.When doing work on board. Many ABK who do not use safety helmet, warepack, safety shoes and gloves that cause incidents or accidents while working. This research aims to determine about safety equipment are adequate, to know how much knowledge of ABK about safety worker at ship, and to find out about efforts for ABK can safe when during woking on board. This is a qualitative research. In determining the priority of the problem to be solved, the researcher used a method which is called by SWOT (Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities, Threats) method by giving a score from 1 to 5. Based on the observation and analysis of the authors concluded that knowledge of ABK about safety regulation is still lacking. Efforts that can be used to improve the safety currently include an increase in work management, job readliness checks and use Personal Protective Equipment are good and correct and surveillance at work. From the results of research by using SWOT method, can be found a strategy ST that can be done include 1) the company can socialize the usage tentangg and the use of PPE when working in the field. 2) the company can accelerate the delivery of PPE stock.
