Abstract

Opra Wahyu Priatmoko, NIT: 50134852 N, 2018, "Analysis of Capacity of Ships Crew In Facing Emergency Situation In MV. DK 01", thesis of Nautical departement, Diploma IV Program, Merchant Marine Polytechnic of Semarang. First Advisor: Capt. Dodik Widarbowo, M.T., M.Mar., Second Advisor: Dr. Winarno, S.S.T., M.H. The ability to deal with emergencies is essential for every crew. Through the implementation of a good and proper emergency training exercise, it will improve the ability of the crew to cope with an emergency. In reality, however, the implementation of emergency training often does not go well. This can lead to a decrease in the ability of the crew to deal with emergencies. Theoretical basis in writing this research is based on books related to the title of the adoptive researchers. In this thesis, the research method used is a qualitative method that describes the object under study and USG method is a method used to determine the priority of the problem based on the level of urgency, seriousness, and growth. Based on the results of research that has been done, researcher get some obstacles encountered in the implementation of emergency exercise. The Ships crew is less serious in implementing emergency training, lack of time allocations for emergency training exercises, and poorly maintained safety equipment is a constraint faced by crew in conducting emergency training. Some efforts can be made to improve the ability of the crew to prepare and plan the emergency exercise well, carry out emergency training according to the procedure, and conduct an evaluation of activities after the implementation of emergency execution exercise. From the results if the data are then analyzed by the researcher, it can be concluded that the ability of the crew in the face of emergencies considered less good. This can be seen from how the implementation of emergency exercises conducted so far. Various obstacles faced by the crew of the ship must be resolved so as not to exacerbate the ability to deal with emergencies. Capacity building efforts can be done in terms of preparation, implementation, and evaluation of emergency exercises. Keywords: ability analysis, emergency situation, crew MV. DK01
