Abstract
ABSTRACT Wakit Ali Muntoha, 2023, NIT: 551811226705 T, “Analysis for decreasing performance of emergency generator againts the blackout situation in MT. EXPLORER LIII”, Thesis of Engineering Study Program, Diploma IV Program, Merchant Marine Polytechnic of Semarang, Advisor I: Dr.F.Pambudi Widiatmaka,S.T.,M.T, Advisor II: Daryanto, SH, MM Emergency generator is an auxiliary machinery that functions to produce electrical power to supply the electricity needs of ships in an emergency situation (black out). The puspose of this thesis is 1) analyze the decreasing performance in emergency generator against black out situations, 2) efforts that must be made so that emergency generator performance run normally and optimally. The research method that I use is qualitative with fishbone analysis used to find the causes of problems and ways to overcome them. The results obtained from this study indicate that the cause of reduced emergency generator performance is the dirty of fuel filter and the lack of optimal working of injectors. The way to overcome the problems is to periodically maintenance for emergency generator, especially fuel filter and injectors with the plan maintenance system (PMS) make emergency generator can normally and optimally running again.
