Abstract

ABSTRAKSI Kevin Christian, 2019, NIT: 52155832. T ”Analisis Kebocoran Aft Seal Stern Tube di MV. KT 06”, Diploma IV, Teknika, Politeknik Ilmu Pelayaran Semarang, Pembimbing I: F. Pambudi Widiatmaka, ST, MT., Pembimbing II: Yustina Sapan, S.ST, MM. Stern Tube adalah sebuah tabung yang berada di buritan kapal yang berfungsi untuk menghubungkan poros propeller dengan Main Engine dan berfungsi untuk mencegah air laut masuk kedalam kapal. Kebocoran pada stern tube di MV. KT 06 disebabkan oleh bocor/rusaknya seal stern tube karena kelelahan bahan, naiknya suhu minyak lumas dan kesalahan crew dalam menutup valve oli yang dapat mengakibatkan masuknya air laut ke kamar mesin. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode fishbone yang sering juga diagram ini disebut dengan sebab akibat atau cause effect diagram. Data yang digunakan selama penelitian adalah menggunakan data primer dan data sekunder yaitu sebagai pendukung tersusunnya penulisan skripsi ini. Data yang diperoleh melalui data primer antara lain dari observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi, sedangkan data sekunder antara lain dari studi pustaka. Metode fishbone digunakan untuk membantu mengidentifikasi akar penyebab dari suatu masalah serta menemukan upaya untuk memperbaiki atau meminimalisir masalah tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kebocoran pada stern tube disebabkan karena kelelahan bahan dimana pemakaian yang melebihi jam kerja dan kualitas seal yang tidak bagus. Naiknya suhu minyak lumas juga menjadi penyebab rusaknya seal. Ini disebabkan karena kotornya pipa-pipa pendingin serta saringan oli yang jarang dibersihkan. Dan yang terakhir kesalahan crew dalam menutup valve oli juga dapat berakibat fatal pada sistem pelumasan stern tube. Ini dapat mengakibatkan terhentinya aliran minyak lumas yang berfungsi untuk melumasi stern tube yang mengakibatkan seal menjadi rusak atau bocor karena tidak ada minyak lumas yang melumasi. Stern tube is a tube that located in a stern of the ship which serves to connect the propeller shaft with the main engine and to prevent sea water into the ship. The leakage of the stern tube in MV. KT 06 caused of the broken seal because the fatigue of material, increasing temperature of lube oil, and the error of crew when closed the lube oil valve which is caused the sea water come into the engine room. This research using a fishbone method which always called cause and effect diagram. The data used during research using a primary data and secondary data to supporting during the writing of this thesis. Data get from primary data is from observation, interview, and documentation, while the secondary data is from literature review. Fishbone method used for helping to identification the root cause of the problems and also find the solution to repair and minimize the problems. The results of the research shows the leakage of stern tube caused of the fatigue of material, where the usage of the material is limit of working hours and the bad quality of material. Increasing temperature of lube oil also caused of the broken seal. This is because the dirty pipe of cooling and filter of lube oil which is rarely to clean. And the last one is the human error of crew when closed the lube oil valve also can be fatal to the system of stern tube lubrication. This can result the stoppage of lube oil flow which have a function to lubricate stern tube which caused seal can be damaged because there is no lube oil lubricate for.
