KT 02", Technical Thesis Program, Diploma Progam IV, Merchant Marine Polytechnic Semarang, Supervisor I: Drs. Edy Warsopurnomo, MM, M.Mar.E. Advisor II: Capt.Dwi Antoro, MM, M.Mar. Bilge hatch pump is a ship auxiliary aircraft where it is used as a bilge cleaning hatch resulted from cleaning hatch, given the importance of this pump role it is necessary to maintain maintenance according to the procedure so that the work of this bilge hatch pump runs optimally. In the presentation of this thesis, to be more focused and focused in more detail, then the problem can be formulated as follows: What factors affect the damage to the bilge pump on the cleaning process on the ship MV. Formulation of the above to be more selective, tiered and in accordance with the meaning, the authors use the fishbone method and Fault Tree Analysis. By using a combination of two methods can find the cause of a problem that occurs and know the root of the problems that occur. Bearings on broken or worn ends, pump shafts are damaged and grease is poor. At the time of discussion of the problem, the idea arose as an attempt to solve the problems that occurred.
