Abstract

ABSTRAK Agung Satrio Nugroho, 2019, NIT: 51145141 N, “Pelaksanaan Bongkar Muat Propylene di MT. Gas Maluku”, Program Studi Nautika, Program Diploma IV, Politeknik Ilmu Pelayaran Semarang, Pembimbing I: Capt. H. S. Sumardi, S.H., M.M., M.Mar , Pembimbing II: Andy Wahyu Hermanto, M.T. MT Gas Maluku adalah kapal milik perusahaan PT. Gemilang Bina Lintas Tirta berjenis LPG Gas Carrier yang dapat membawa berbagai muatan salah satu contohnya adalah muatan Propylene. Muatan propylene memiliki penanganan yang berbeda dengan muatan-muatan lain seperti LPG Mix, butane, propane, dll. Oleh karena itu penanganan yang tepat harus dilakukan pada saat pelaksanaan bongkar muat sedang berlangsung. Tujuan penulis melakukan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang dapat menyebabkan bahaya ledakan dan keterlambatan pada saat bongkar muat propylene di MT. Gas Maluku serta upayaupaya pencegahannya Metode penelitian yang digunakan penulis pada penyusunan skripsi ini adalah metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Dengan cara pengumpulan data secara observasi dengan mengamati langsung objek penelitian dan melakukan wawancara dengan sejumlah responden di MT. Gas Maluku. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian pada saat pelaksanaan bongkar muat dapat terjadi bahaya ledakan apabila tekanan dan temperature tangki naik yang diakibatkan karena tidak digunakannya sea water spray dan kurangnya perawatan pada press gauge dan pipa-pipa water spray. Keterlambatan pada saat pelaksanaan bongkar muat propylene di MT. Gas Maluku disebabkan karena berkurangnya kinerja cargo compressor yang mengakibatkan pompa muatan mengalami trip dan kurangnya pengetahuan awak kapal tentang muatan propylene karena sering terjadinya kesalahpahaman oleh crew dalam penanggulangan hambatan-hambatan yang terjadi pada saat pelaksanaan bongkar muat sedang berlangsung. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini bahwa dengan melakukan perawatan rutin pada press gauge, pipa-pipa water spray dan cargo compressor. Melaksanakan pelatihan-pelatihan di atas kapal secara berkala, serta melaksanakan familiarisasi karakteristik muatan propylene kepada awak kapal, sehingga pelaksanaan bongkar muat propylene berjalan dengan aman dan efisien.
