Abstract

INTISARI Kristian Setyo Ardhito, 2020, NIT : 52155833.T, “Analisis Keretakan Cylinder Liner pada mesin induk di KM. Tidar”, Skripsi Program Studi Teknika, Program Diploma IV, Politeknik Ilmu Pelayaran Semarang, Pembimbing I: F. Pambudi Widiatmaka, S.T., M.T dan Pembimbing II: Yustina Sapan, S.ST, MM. Mesin diesel adalah mesin pembakaran internal dimana udara dikompres ke suhu yang cukup tinggi untuk menyalakan bahan bakar diesel yang disuntikkan ke dalam silinder. Silinder liner adalah bagian dari mesin disel yang berfungsi sebagai tempat proses terjadinya pembakaran yang menghasilkan tenaga/usaha dengan pemanfaatan udara dan suhu yang tinggi yang bersamaan dengan penyemprotan bahan bakar. Adanya keretakan cylinder liner pada mesin induk dapat mempengaruhi pengoperasian mesin diesel Metode penelitian yang penulis gunakan dalam penyusunan skripsi ini adalah metode penelitian deskriptif kualitaf. Dalam hal ini penulis menggunakan metode fishbone dan SHEL sebagai teknik analisa data. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui faktor penyebab keretakan pada cylinder liner main engine, dampak yang terjadi dari keretakan cylinder liner dan upaya yang dilakukan untuk mengatasi keretakan cylinder liner pada KM. Tidar. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan penulis, dapat disimpulkan bahwa faktor penyebab keretakan cylinder liner adalah, 1) Pendinginan yang kurang baik. kurang optimalnya pompa water cooling, terjadinya kebocoran pada sistem pendinginan dan rusaknya by pass valve/thermostat,2)Kualitas spare part tidak sesuai standar. Untuk mengatasi faktor-faktor tersebut yang dapat dilakukan adalah ,perbaikan komponen mesin yang rusak,penggantian, perawatan,serta pemilihan spare part yang sesuai standar. A diesel engine is an internal combustion engine where air is compressed to a temperature high enough to ignite diesel fuel injected into the cylinder. Cylinder liner is part of a diesel engine that serves as a place for the combustion process that produces power / effort with the use of air and high temperatures together with fuel spraying. The existence of a cylinder liner crack on the main engine can affect the operation of the diesel engine. The research method that the author uses in preparing this thesis is a descriptive qualitative research method. In this case the authors use the fishbone and SHEL methods as data analysis techniques. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors causing cracks in the cylinder liner main engine, the impact of the cylinder liner cracks and the efforts made to overcome the cylinder liner cracks in the KM. Tidar. Based on the results of research that has been done by the author, it can be concluded that the factors causing the cylinder liner fracture are, 1) Poor cooling. less than optimal water cooling pump, leakage in the cooling system and damage by the pass valve / thermostat, 2) The quality of the spare part is not according to the standard. To overcome these factors, what can be done is repairing damaged engine components, replacement, maintenance, and selection of spare parts according to the standard.
