Abstract

INTISARI Edgar Yogi Pratama, 52155765 T, 2020, “Optimalisasi Kinerja Marine Growth Prevention System (MGPS) Pada Sistem Pendinginan di Kapal MT. Ketaling”, Skripsi Program Studi Teknika, Program Diploma IV Politeknik Ilmu Pelayaran Semarang, Pembimbing I : Nasri, M.T., M.Mar.E, Pembimbing II : Capt. Ali Imran, M.M., M.Mar Latar belakang penulis melakukan penelitian terhadap “Optimalisasi Kinerja Marine Growth Prevention System (MGPS) Pada Sistem Pendinginan di Kapal MT. Ketaling” adalah karena sedikitnya pelaut yang mengetahui seberapa pentingnya permesinan MGPS pada system pendinginan kapal, sehingga banyak permesinan MGPS pada kapal yang tidak melakukan perawatan, hal tersebut menyebabkan penurunan fungsi kinerja dari permesinan MGPS. Akhirnya, penulis menyusun skripsi ini dengan rumusan masalah 1.) Faktor - faktor apakah yang menyebabkan turunnya kinerja Marine Growth Prevention System (MGPS) pada system pendinginan kapal? 2.) Dampak apa yang ditimbulkan akibat turunnya kinerja Marine Growth Prevention System (MGPS) pada system pendinginan kapal? 3.) Apakah upaya yang perlu dilakukan untuk mecegah turunnya kinerja Marine Growth Prevention System (MGPS) pada system pendinginan kapal? Penelitian skripsi ini didasarkan pada pelaksanaan perawatan MGPS, pentingnya pengecekan system dan komponennya untuk menghindari kejadiankejadian yang dapat menghambat sistem pengoperasian, serta familiariasi kepada engine crew tentang perawatan dan cara pengoperasian MGPS. Metode penelitian yang penulis gunakan dalam penulisan skripsi ini adalah metode kualitatif, dangan metode analisis fishbone dan SHEL. Sumber data dari penelitian ini berasal dari hasil observasi, studi pustaka, dan wawancara selama penulis melaksanakan praktek laut dari bulan Oktober 2017 sampai bulan Oktober 2018 di kapal MT. Ketaling milik PT. Pertamina. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan : Ada beberapa faktor penyebab turunnya kinerja MGPS Pada Sistem Pendinginan di Kapal MT. Ketaling, yaitu: Kurang tepatnya pengaturan tegangan, penggunaan anoda yang melebihi batas umur, kondisi atau unsur air laut, dan kurangnya pengetahuan seorang engineer. Saran penulis, untuk pengoperasian dan perawatan permesinan MGPS harus berpatokan pada manual book, agar tercipta pengoperasian yang benar serta terhindar dari kejadian-kejadian yang dapat membahayakan kapal beserta isinya. Ali Imran, M.M., M.Mar The background of the authors conducted research on “Optimizing the Performance of Marine Growth Prevention System (MGPS) on Refrigeration Systems on Ships MT. Ketaling” is due to the small number of seafarers who know the importance of the MGPS machinery in the ship's cooling system, so many MGPS machinery is not observed on ships, this causes a decrease in the performance function of the MGPS machinery. Finally, the authors compile this thesis with the formulation of the problem 1.) What factors caused the decline in the performance of the Marine Growth Prevention System (MGPS) on the ship's cooling system? 2.) What impact is caused by the decreasing performance of the Marine Growth Prevention System (MGPS) on the ship's cooling system? 3.) Are the efforts needed to prevent the performance of the Marine Growth Prevention System (MGPS) on the ship's cooling system? This thesis research is based on the implementation of MGPS maintenance, the importance of checking the system and its components to avoid events that can hamper the operating system, as well as familiarization to the engine crew regarding maintenance and how to operate MGPS. The research method that the author uses in writing this thesis is a qualitative method, with the method of fishbone analysis and SHEL. The data source of this research comes from observations, literature studies, and interviews when the authors carry out marine practices from October 2017 to October 2018 on the ship MT. Ketaling owned by PT. Pertamina. The results showed: There are several factors causing the decline in the performance of MGPS on the Cooling System on the MT. Ketaling, namely: Inaccurate voltage regulation, use of anodes that exceed the age limit, conditions or elements of sea water, and lack of knowledge of an engineer. The author's suggestion, for the operation and maintenance of MGPS machinery must be based on the manual book, in order to create the correct operation and avoid events that could endanger the ship and its contents.
