Abstract

ABSTRAKSI Yudhistira Pratidina Pratama, 2019, NIT: 51145361 T, “Analisa Menurunnya Kualitas Air Pengisian Terhadap Pengoperasian Auxiliary Boiler di MT. SINDANG.”, skripsi Program Studi Teknika, Program Diploma IV, Politeknik Ilmu Pelayaran Semarang, Pembimbing I: Sarifuddin, M.Pd, M.Mar.E, Pembimbing II:Capt. Dwi Antoro, M.M, M.Mar Ketel uap adalah bejana tertutup yang dapat menghasilkan uap panas dengan tekanan lebih besar dari satu atmosfer, dengan jalan memanaskan air yang berada di dalam ketel tersebut.Dalam kenyataannya, ketel uap sering kali mengalami gangguan-gangguan, seperti yang pernah terjadi di MT. SINDANGpada tanggal 21 Oktober 2017, saat dilakukan pengujian air ketel, didapat hasil bahwa kadar alkalinitas, pH yang terkandung di dalam air berada dibawah batas normal10.5- 11.5. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengetahui faktor-faktor serta upaya-upaya apa yang dilakukan untuk mengatasi faktor-faktor penyebab menurunnya kualitas air pengisian auxiliary boiler. Metodedigunakan skripsi ini adalah metode penelitian deskriptif kualitaf. Dalam hal ini penulis menggunakanmetode SWOT dan Hazop sebagai teknik analisa datauntuk menganalisafaktor-faktor apa saja yang menyebabkan menurunnya kualitas air ketel dan upaya apa yang dilakukan untuk mengatasi faktor–faktor tersebut dengan mengidentifikasi kekuatan (strenghts), kelemahan (weaknesses), peluang (opportunities), serta ancaman (threats) dari lingkungan secara sistematisuntuk merumuskan strategi yang akan diambil. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penurunan kualitas air ketel disebabkan oleh dua faktor, yaitu a)Air destilasi yang tercampur dengan air tawar. b)Kondisi air tawar dari darat tidak memenuhi syarat untuk air ketel. Untuk mengatasi faktor-faktor tersebut dapat dilakukan dilakukan pengujian air ketel di atas kapal, penambahan chemical dosing sertablowdown air ketel. Dwi Antoro, M.M, M.Mar The auxiliary boiler is a closed tube that can produce steam at a pressure greater than one atmosphere, by heating the water within the boiler. The availability of hot steam is essential for the smooth operation of machinery in need, for example for F.O fuel heater, freshwater heater, and others.Water used in the process of steam formation is very influential on the condition of the boiler. A decrease in water quality can affect the operation of the boiler, so water quality should always be maintained. Research method that writer use in preparation of this thesis is descriptive qualitaf research method. In this case the writer use the SWOT method and Hazop as a data analysis technique to analyze what factors cause the decrease of boiler water quality and what efforts are done to overcome these factors by identifying strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats from the environment systematically to formulate the strategy to be taken. Based on the result of the research that has been done by the writer, it can be concluded that water boiler degradation is caused by two factors, 1) distillate water not yet widely available in ship caused by leakage of evaporator pipe on FWG and mechanical seal damage at distillation pump. 2) Freshwater conditions from land are not suitable for boiler water. To overcome these factors can be done by checking to determine which pipe is leaking, patching the leaking pipes using copper plugs, opening and closing the inlet valve and water outlet of the evaporator heater slowly to avoid thermal shock which can cause pipeline leakage, mechanical replacement seal on the distillation pump, and testing of boiler water on board, addition of chemical dosing and water boiler blowdown.
